My Little Buddy 1.30

This is my little hang out buddy.
We stop for hot dogs at Sam's Club...
We explore weird little sticky rubber flip toys...
We meet friends at McDonald's
and eat "fries in a bag"...

We watch trains go by after preschool....
He can barely stay in his seat while the train goes by...

One day he begged me to go the long way home around the tracks. As adults we sometimes are in such a rush to get to the next thing.  I indulged him on this day knowing that the chances of getting stopped by the train were very low.  I didn't think much of it as I turned left through heavy traffic and started around the curve near the mill.  Wouldn't you know it...the "ding dings" were down and the traffic was stopped, waiting for the train.
This kid got so. excited.  I realized then that God was in the details of our day.  This little thing brings him the biggest joy!  It was magical that we got stopped for the train. He kept yelling "Diesel! Diesel!". God knows where we are each moment of each day. He blesses us with little glimpses of our eternity.  He is a loving and kind God.  Grandma Sandy says that perhaps our train riding Great-grandpa Holmes is up there pulling some strings so that he can see this smile.  God is in the details.  I was glad for the reminder.

We also enjoy reading books.

One night after we had read "Little Bunny Foo Foo" for the millionth time he started telling it on his own.  This is the part where the good fairy is done giving him chances to behave and she says that she will turn him into a goon.  By the way, Little Bunny Foo Foo does not behave and he does get turned into a goon in the end.
